This year is the 27th annual National Women in Construction (WIC) Week. First organized by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), WIC Week celebrates, promotes, and highlights the vital role women play in the construction industry.
This year’s theme is ‘Together We Rise,’ and we’re celebrating the empowered women whose strength and expertise are shaping the future of construction and the industry. This week, Rebuild SoCal highlights several women who are members of the Southern California District Council of Laborers, Western States Regional Council of Carpenters, and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 12. Check out our website to watch and learn more about their experiences, stories, and what they have to say about working in a male-dominated field. Women make up around 11% of the construction industry, which is only increasing. By working together, we can build a stronger and more inclusive industry.
