Rebuild SoCal Partnership Celebrates National Women in Construction Week

This year is the 28th annual National Women in Construction (WIC) Week. First organized by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), WIC Week celebrates, promotes, and highlights the vital role women play in the construction industry during the first week of March every year.

This year’s theme is ‘Level Up, Build Strong,’ and we’re celebrating the empowered women whose strength, resilience, and expertise are shaping the future of the construction industry. This week, Rebuild SoCal highlights several women who are members of the Southern California District Council of Laborers and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 12. Visit our social media channels to watch and learn more about their experiences, what they love most about the job, and their journeys in joining the construction trades. Women make up around 11% of the construction industry, and that figure is only increasing. By working together, we can level up and build a stronger and more inclusive industry.

Interested in joining the construction industry? Visit here to learn more about the trades and how you can join the Southern California District Council of Laborers Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Program or the Operating Engineers Training Trust Local 12 Apprenticeship Program.
