Working Families in Orange County Deserve Better

  • Reduced traffic on the I-5 Corridor, the 55, and the 91
  • Improved safety
  • Increased access to economic opportunity

California has already established guidelines for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, tasking several state agencies with engagement and oversight. AB 6 and 7 are redundant measures that inhibit local planning in Orange County at the expense of working families. The bills would force communities that have long contended with burdensome commutes and ineffective transportation options to accept being locked out of infrastructure developments – the key to upward economic mobility – while wealthier communities in Orange County have seen state-of-the-art infrastructure investments both prioritized and realized in their neighborhoods.

Importantly, the efforts propelling AB 6 and 7 would inhibit forward momentum on key projects.

If AB 6 & 7 pass, they would prohibit and could delay the use of state and local funding for road improvement projects to relieve congestion and improve safety, such as widening or new lanes approved by local voters.

Join us in telling Sacramento that we refuse to once again leave working families behind

We are committed to improving access to economic opportunity for Orange County’s working families while addressing environmental, health, and community impacts. Regional transportation agencies are familiar with and can engage in conversations with local residents as integrated members of the community, delivering infrastructure projects that best serve our needs. AB 6 and 7 showcase that Sacramento is disconnected from the local communities our electeds are meant to serve: transportation projects reduce commute times, increase the number of available, well-paid jobs, and enable working families to get home sooner.

Ask your elected representative to support working families and vote NO on Assembly Bills 6 and 7.

Stop AB 6&7

Hundreds of thousands of people are forced to sit on congested roadways across Orange County, and AB 6&7 would make this problem worse. It’s time for the legislature to find real solutions for traffic relief on our freeways, and these bills would set us back.

Freeway congestion and smog from idling cars make air quality worse, which is why we need leaders to deliver on long-promised transportation projects that improve our environment and quality of life.

Please vote no on AB 6&7.
