Two international awards honor excellence

The Southern California Partnership for Jobs has been honored with awards in two international competitions for Rebuild SoCal videos. Two videos, one about Proposition 69 and another about Careers in Construction received Silver Davey Awards. Additionally, the Careers in Construction video earned a Platinum dotComm Award.

Award-winning videos

Prior to the June 2018 election, SCPFJ teamed with Talent Evolution to create a video as a public service message to inform voters about California Proposition 69. The Transportation Taxes and Fees Lockbox and Appropriations Limit Exemption Amendment was on the ballot, allowing Californians to approve a measure to lock in funds from Senate Bill 1 (SB1) and requiring revenue from the diesel sales tax and Transportation Improvement Fee (TIF) be dedicated for transportation-related purposes. The measure successfully passed.

As part of the #RebuildSoCal Project, SCPFJ again partnered with Talent Evolution to create an informative video about the union apprenticeship training program in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Due to the passage of SB 1, funds are available for infrastructure, creating decades worth of construction work in Southern California.

An eye-catching video conveys a message about getting the proper training to start a construction career in a way the tech-savvy high school target audience expects from multimedia today.

The award-winning video showcases career opportunities and the benefits of a position in engineering and construction as well as insight on how to apply for the program.
